sboui root password causes segmentation fault

Not sure when this started for me exactly but I thought it was a temporary thing that showed up when 15.0 went live. With current I followed instructions as given here https://www.linuxquestions.org/quest...ml#post6321908 and all went well for quite some time.
I have removepkg and installpkg many times now in an effort to get a handle on the problem, always believing that my settings somehow won't work on 15.0 now that it has gone prime time.
Presently I have uninstalled and deleted anything that remained behind and then reinstalled and there I sit needing help.

I sure like sboui and miss it

When I enter the root password and hit enter sboui flashes briefly on my screen and disappears. Were I to try the ignore button I can get sboui up and running without root privileges (not too useful). If I try from a terminal I can see a segmentation fault has occurred but am unable to find out anything else.

Oh well. I wanted to actually fix it but didn't know what to do so I just re-installed Slackware64 15.0. Gonna mark this as solved. Thanks to all that read my blather and tried to think about what could have happened.
