Okay this is the fourth time I have tried to download Sbopkg Chromium (it took many hours, 'cause my computor is not very fast) and when I try to start in up there is nothing, I cannot even find a single trace of it on my computor. Has any one else had this problem. How can I tell if it is installed or not?
divali perhaps it is a good idea to give us some more detail.
What did you mean by "download Sbopkg Chromium"? Did you use sbopkg to create a chromium package? Did you actually install the package after downloading?
What did you do when you tried to start chromium? How did you determine that there was no trace of it on your computer?
Well I used the Sbopkg Download/install/configure option and waited for hours while Chromium configured and installed, but when it had finished although there was no real way to tell whether it had actually finished. There was no descktop icon and using whereis and find I could see no trace of Chromium.
Another thing to keep in mind is that the slackbuilds.org version of chromium.SlackBuild will compile a version 31.0.1650.57 of the browser.
That is quite old. If you need a recent chromium browser you can download version 41.0.2272.76 (packages as well as the sources) from http://www.slackware.com/~alien/slackbuilds/chromium/
Downloading and installing that package will save you several hours of compiling the sources first.
