Sata Harddrives

Hi again
My problem now is that before when i used 2.4 kernel, my sata hardrives showed up as /dev/sdx
but now they dont show up anymore(using 2.6 now) not in dmesg nor in /dev directory.

Is there some modules that i forgot to load? ive checked my compile but cant find anything in the kernel compile that says anything about sata...

You need to check libata. There is config for sata (it was when I've compiled).
So your hdds aren't seen at all?

In my config files I have these:

Code:
# CONFIG_BLK_DEV_IDE_SATA is not set
CONFIG_SCSI_SATA=y
CONFIG_SCSI_ATA_PIIX=y
CONFIG_SCSI_SATA_INTEL_COMBINED=y
Now I think you know where to look for (disable sata ide, enable sata scsi). My kernel is 2.6.16
