Resume from RAM Stalls While Time Updates

Hello Slackers,

While resuming from RAM, the system halts all input while the time updates, taking around 14-16 seconds. This problem only happens with Slackware & Gentoo and only since this build was made in September. It doesn't matter which suspend method is used as far as pm-utils, echo "mem" > /sys/power/state, or through GUI. I've tried both UTC and localtime, hook blacklisting with pm-suspend, ntp with ntpd, updating the clock manually with hwclock and using timeconfig.

This Ubuntu user was having the same problem but unfortunately provided no further details:

Have you tried debugging a bit with what it says in /usr/src/linux/Documentation/power/basic-pm-debugging.txt?

It is difficult to tell you what can help. I personally have no interest in tracking down all the various methods you used to get suspend to RAM to work. I use pm-suspend and pm-hibernate binaries with sudo from the Fluxbox menu. I suggest you pick one method and work from there. Seems to me it might be a kernel issue, but I have never ran into this issue, so I am probably wrong. :/
