Can we have a "Requests for 15.0 patches" thread?

xfce4-clipman-plugin has a nasty bug, which really makes it unusable.

https://gitlab.xfce.org/panel-plugin...in/-/issues/65

Building from -master seems to be enough to have that bug gone, and clipman only had about 2 patches since the last release.

php in current is DOA

There is no updates, patch or security wise for anything under php 8.0, yet 7.4 is still in -current
May I suggest Pat you dump it and move 8.1 from extra into -current, unless you're brave enough to try teh just released 8.2.0

...
(and with some housekeeping might be good idea to sort that out in 15.0 too, maybe to 8.0 ? which gets security patches for another 10 months when it too becomes fully EOL)
(I know I know stupid php devs and their move to this short life cycle per release is a PITFA)

Happy New Year!

8.2.0 still doesn't work correctly with the applications I use, but 8.1.13 does.

How about this as a possibility ?

Move php-7.4.x from the main tree of -current into 'pasture' of -current
After php80 becomes EOL, move it from 'extra' into 'pasture' of -current
(php-5.6.40-x86_64-1.txz is already there)

Move php81 from extra of -current into the main tree of -current

Add php82 into 'testing' of -current

Well, it looks like PHP 7.4.x is not EOL after-all
but rather _is_ still getting security fixes.

Not really
It's up to the distribution package maintainers to backport patches from 8.x branches
As you can see, 8.x have been upgraded and 7.x rebuilt

OIC.

So, apparently, Patrick feels that enough Slackers are still using
PHP 7.4.x that it is worthwhile to keep it in the main tree
and to backport security fixes into it.

I don't know what Patrick feels
But since others are in extra/ the default PHP version in Slackware is 7.x

The first results on Google about "OIC" are regarding "Organisation of Islamic Cooperation"

https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-e&q=OIC

Because I have no idea about what connection is between Islamic Cooperation and PHP, permit me to ask you:

You are kind to speak English, please? Not everybody here knows IRCish, neither the slang from your Downtown!

Here are people all over around the World - you responded to a Republic of France citizen, for example.
