Recommendations on Compiling Xorg-6.8.2

Is there anything special I should do, other then get out of X when actually installing, that I should do when compiling X?

EDIT: I guess it's more like this: "How would I compile X?"

There's packages available in Slackware-Current I would *think* you could just download those and install them, but you might want to wait for someone else to verify that.

If you want to compile it yourself, there's nothing more to do than read the Install instructions.

Yea, I don't really see the need to compile them your self. Have a look at his build script if you really want to tho. But then, if your just going to follow Slackware's build script, theres REALLY no reason not to just use the packages...

If I use the x11-6.8.2-i486-1 package, is everything needed to run X installed?

EDIT: Also, I can't figure out how to work upgradepkg.

Yo need that package and x11-fonts-misc-6.8.2-noarch-1. If you plan to compile X programs (and it's very recommended to have this) you also need x11-devel-6.8.2-i486-1

Regarding upgradepkg, type: man upgradepkg
