startx problems


this is what i do in order:

turn computer on
login as normal user
# startx
logout of kde
# startx

screen goes black and system locks

any input/help/advice?

look in your log files after rebooting. maybe something interesting is there. .Xsession-errors or something

you can also try to see whether the same thing happens when you boot into runlevel 4 (log out and back in a couple of times)

should have on in your home dir and one in /var/log/
