QjackCtl or Qsynth window consumes 100% of CPU (without actually starting services)

hello slackers.

just wondering if anyone has similar issue like me. i've turned my laptop (intel hda sound card) into simple sound/midi recording/editing workstation. while after few headaches, i was able to get everything up and running (thanx to slakcbuilds and other resources), i still have one annoying problem: whenever i start qjackctl or qsynth windows (both are qt4 apps), they jam cpu at 100% (without actually starting any services). i can avoid this by running jackd and fluidsynth from the command line (with CLI, i don't event know they're running!), but then i'm loosing much of the power those two GUI apps offer.

is there anyone who can help? i've tried 2 or 3 pre-compiled qt4 packages and eventually, i've grabbed a build script from slackbuilds and compiled one myself. none of that helped. the only other app of mine i know for sure is built around qt4 i sksype, but that has no running issue.

maybe this is not a qt4 issue, i don't know.

any help would be appreciated

That's interesting. Never saw that, but it's similar here. I have a dual-core system, so qjackctl uses 65% on one core and 35% on the other. It's probably a bug of qjackctl and qsynth (not tested that one).
