I'm so excited to give it a try ;D.

It sort of feels like they went adobes direction . VS has WYSIWYG powers just as DW.. It feels too convient that it came out right when brackets popularity sky rocketed.

Good guess. I saw the news in Phoronix and tried it, just out of curiosity

I won't use it but as you can see, at least it has syntax highlighting for bash.

I lost interest when I saw that it didn't offer code completion for C++.

I like that it shows HTML colors in a little preview box. That would be a nice feature for kate

Edit: Oh, I see that kate already has this feature included. It's even better: http://zaufi.github.io/programming/2...e-color-tools/

To enable the python plugins in Slackware's kate, it has to be rebuilt with:

Code:
-DINSTALL_PYTHON_FILES_IN_PYTHON_PREFIX=ON

I'm going to be charitable and assume you just missed the news.

We're talking about a new Linux text editor that came out today.
