Problem with VLC: Inconsistency detected by ld.so

Hi,

I have VLC 2.2.4 installed on Slackware64 14.2. It stopped working after a recent upgrade. When I launch it from the command line, here's what I get:

Code:
Inconsistency detected by ld.so: dl-tls.c: 74: _dl_next_tls_modid:
Assertion `result <= GL(dl_tls_max_dtv_idx) + 1' failed!
Any idea what's wrong here?

Cheers,

Niki

PS: yes, I know Eric has static packages for VLC.

Upgrade of what in particular?
In last weekend's SBo updates, x265 had a version bump from 1.8 to 2.0. As a result I rebuilt both vlc and ffmpeg (which has optional dependency on x265) and vlc is running fine. Maybe that would work for you, although x265 doesn't look like it would have much to do with the error you're seeing. The SBo updates of previous weekend had updates for vlc dependencies libwebp & live555. A simple rebuild of vlc would take into account all the recent dependency updates (there could be others too - depends when you last built vlc).
