Power saving mechanism continuously interrupting.

Hi: Being in the GUI, I get the screen locked every 5minutes. The power saving (this is a notebook) mechanism induces the screen protector to act, this in turn blanks and locks the screen. Any way to avoid this behavior?

Some details: This is Xfce 4.10. I did Settings>Screensaver>Display Modes>Mode, choosing "Disable screen saver". To no avail: behavior still exactly the same as before.

It's probably screen locking under power settings you need to change, not the screensaver.

Try going to Settings > Power Manager > General > System

Under System Power Saving set the system sleep mode to 'never' and set the inactive for 'never' as well.

Uncheck the box that says lock screen when system is going for sleep.

I'm running xfce 4.12 (not 4.10) - but maybe this hasn't changed

Under Settings>Screensaver>Advanced, make sure that "Display Power Management" checkboxes are _NOT_ chacked

Uhumm... I have just done Settings>Power Management>On AC>Actions and chose "Nothing". I'll let you know what the result is. On of the options under ...>Actions was "lock screen".

I knew I was forgetting somethig under Settings>Screensaver! Well they were not checked but it was good to remember that.
