PHP-MySQL Weird Error

Hi,
I know that PHP/MySQL error undefined function mysql_connect() has been discussed here before, I have read all the topics regarding that, but I still can't get it to work.

I have tried apache2/apache 1.3 with php 5 and php4 and I made sure, that extension=mysql.so is used and I still it didn't work with any configuration.

Could you please advice what could be the cause of this?

I am running slackware 10.1, just installed it this week, was running slack 10 and it was working perfectly.

Thanks

Are you using the PHP/MySQL packages that come with 10.1?
