I just compiled frozen-bubble, sdl-perl and sdl-pango from alienbob's slackbuilds. No problems there. The other dependencies, sdl-mixer and sdl-mixer were compiled from scratch for supertux and already on board.

My one problem was fulfilling a gettext.pm dependency which I finally fulfilled using a slackpack I had made up in Oct 06 with rpm2tgz and a perl-getext rpm from somewhere.

My notes on compiling/installing frozen-bubble, albeit from slack-10.2, don't mention this problem

I'm curious to know if any other folks on this list have had a dependency problem with gettext.pm. I'm wondering if my trouble was a failing on this particular box/install only.

Fair enough! That's what I get for not being able to sleep and getting out of bed a 01:00. I never made the connection because it didn't say "perl".
