Linux-PAM has been added to the core ports of CRUX 3.5 and important packages like shadow and sudo depend on it now, but normally the user should not even notice the new dependency.
Obviously if there's nothing about it in the ChangeLog, we aren't there yet. But careful observers might have noticed that the recent patch for mariadb's mysql_install_db in the mariadb.SlackBuild is only applied if PAM doesn't exist on the system.
