Palm Treo not recognized, all other devices are

My kernel has both ehci and ohci and the works compiled in (static, not even module), and when plugging in any of the iPods, a USB Scanner, USB harddisks or USB DVD-RW, it works perfectly. It even works with my old Palm V.

However, when I plug in my Palm Treo650 my computer doesn't like it, and dmesg gives the following:
Code:
usb 2-1: device descriptor read/64, error -110
usb 2-1: device descriptor read/64, error -110
usb 2-1: new full speed USB device using ohci_hcd and address 10
usb 2-1: device not accepting address 10, error -110
usb 2-1: new full speed USB device using ohci_hcd and address 11
usb 2-1: device not accepting address 11, error -110
Any idea why my laptop and Treo won't get along, while all the other devices work perfectly? It works well under Windows XP at my office, but that's of no comfort at all, as our home is a Microsoft-free Zone.

Thanks for answering.
Why won't the USB cable work?
Do you have any links to documentation on this?
Where's the limitation?

OK - thanks. Got the link on google and am experimenting with BlueZ right now..

However, without a satisfactory explaination on why precisely it doesn't work, I'm going to continue investigating. If anyone had asked me six months ago on the state of DRI in Linux I'd have said that didn't work either... that is - until I figured out how to properly configure it..

So - anyone else with insight on syncing Treo650 with Linux on USB ?
