I have tried different versions and new profile, but result is always the same — segmentation fault.

A little more information would be useful.

Which version of Pale Moon?

Is it pre-compiled for you or are you compiling yourself?

I don't have 32-bit to test, but there's no problems running the latest binary (26.3.3) on 64-bit.

This has been reported before, it seems to be an upstream problem because other distros have the same segfaults.

http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...ml#post5525024 (also see the rest of that page and the next page)

And read the whole of this thread and what Skaendo finally decided at the end of it.

Pale Moon was working fine here too on 14.1 64bit, but with 14.2 64bit all hell broke loose.

I didn't have a bookmark backup that I could import to Firefox, so I just imported the "places.sqlite" from the Pale Moon Profile to Firefox's Profile, and it has been working fine so far.

I guess I'll use Firefox until Pale Moon developers listen (if they do) to its users and fix this issue that affects not only Slackware, but other distributions too.

I just went and downloaded palemoon 26.3.3 and the related files from Slackbuilds. Made a change in the slackbuild to use it for 26.3.3, compiled and installed it and can tell you that it segfaults on 64-bit Slackware 14.2

Their binary also Segmentation Faults.

Damn shame, since it seems they aren't interested in fixing the issue.

I had a recent conversation with someone whom I think was a PaleMoon staff member/dev, and he said they do not support Slackware at this time, and that we are on our own. I agree. Dang shame.

The 32 bit version works on Slackware 14.2, but there is a problem with the gdk-pixbuf lib - it tries to load the 64 bit lib, and I can't figure out how to force it to use the 32 bit lib.

And the 64 bit verison segfaults - BOOM, dead, I cannot get it to start at all.

I was using Palemoon on Slackware 14.1 and my laptop cynchronized with my Windows powered system in office. After reading such reports I dropped it. Thanks to FEBE add-on all of my saved passwords, bookmarks and add-ons were migrated to Firefox without any problem.

It's also doing "Segmentation Fault" on other distributions like Ubuntu and Gentoo (I don't have the links, but it's been mentioned in the Pale Moon Forums).

Funny thing is that I can open the Profile Manager with no problems, but if I choose to run any given profile it crashes.

I'm waiting for the next version of Pale Moon (26.3.x or 26.x.x) to test it, but won't hold my breath. It's Firefox for me for now, folks.

I even tried an older version of PaleMoon, one that is known to work with Slackware 14.1, but it still would not work on Slackware 14.2.

For now I'm using the 32 bit version of PaleMoon. It works, but the icons in the nav toolbar and tabs are just red Xs because of the gdk-pixbuf library version problem.

You need Multilib for that, and I just can't be bothered to install it just because of Pale Moon.

And as you said, it's still broken (icons).

Here's the latest error that I have gotten trying to launch from terminal window:

Code:
error: no-eu-cookie-uk: An exception occurred.
Error opening input stream (invalid filename?)
Traceback (most recent call last):
###!!! ABORT: X_CreatePixmap: BadAlloc (insufficient resources for operation); 4 requests ago: file /home/trava90/PaleMoon/pmsrc/toolkit/xre/nsX11ErrorHandler.cpp, line 145
###!!! ABORT: X_CreatePixmap: BadAlloc (insufficient resources for operation); 4 requests ago: file /home/trava90/PaleMoon/pmsrc/toolkit/xre/nsX11ErrorHandler.cpp, line 145
Segmentation fault
Why is it looking for a file in /home/trava90/? There is not and never has been that username on my PC. I know that trava90 is the Pale Moon "Linux Dev". or so he calls himself.
