Opera 12.01 for Slackware

With SlackBuilds.org not currently accepting updates due to the imminent release of Slackware 14, the opera.SlackBuild there is stuck on version 12.00. However, Opera recently released Opera 12.01 to address some outstanding security issues (see the bottom of the Opera 12.01 Changelog for details).

If you want an updated SlackBuild (or binary package) you can fetch one from my blog in the mean time.

Alternatively, if you are using one of our official cross-distro packages, you can continue to fetch updates to Opera from www.opera.com as always.

The Salix repository also has up to date binary Opera packages.

Seven years since I finally decided to get an Opera license to get rid of the ad banner (guess I should've waited for another couple of week), seems like a good enough reason as any to celebrate with an upgrade.

A few issues that was bugging me in 12.00 seems to have been fixed, but I'm wondering if you happen to have some inside information on whether we're gonna get an option to:
* enable bitmap fonts without having to blacklist all other fonts in ~/.fonts.conf (http://my.opera.com/community/forums...ml?id=999792);
* disable the graying out of the non-domain-name-part in the address bar;
* getting back the old behaviour of clicking-and-dragging a tab to reorganise the tab bar without focusing the clicked tab;
* disable web site custom cursors, other than forcing "* { cursor: auto !important;}" in user.css (since this apparently breaks being able to restore images which have been automatically scaled to fit window);
* disable automatic scaling of larges images to fit window?

I've been running 12.01 since it came out, and I also was happy to see a few minor annoyances disappear with the update.

While we're on the subject of wish-lists, other than lack of pgp support (which I know there's no point mentioning from our previous discussions), these are the two main things I miss not having:

The ability to word-wrap/re-flow text as one types (but I'd settle for: in response to a hot-key) in the mail client's plain text editor rather than have to save-as-draft and then reload the draft message in order to see the effects of word-wrapping, would be very welcome.

Being able to associate additional email addresses with a single 'contact' would also be a nice improvement.

Also, any way to turn off those crash logs that get dumped into /var/tmp/ when one forgets to exit Opera before logging out of X?

Thank you ruario. My slackbuild for opera 12.01 is also ready. I'll upload it to SBo ASAP when SBo opens its upload form.

i always use the install script from the package provided by Opera,
it handles updates quite nicely and there's uninstall script in the installed folder as well
