Have not tried it, just saw the Changelog and then checked the contents of the new mirror
It was strictly in preparation for the upcoming release. This will prevent people from accidentally downgrading their -current install to 14.2. Once 15.0 is released, people are able to simply change the mirror file from -current to 15.0 and then they'll be on the stable release. For the people who want to stay on -current, no change would be needed.
Once 15.0 is released, you'll see the following on the ChangeLog, with more details below it:
