Network slow

Internet browsing on some sites are VERY slow, why?

Can i do something about it? IPV6 disabled..
Im using Slackware 10.2 kernel 2.6.13

well it could be a hardware driver or firewall settings, but

keep in mind that sometimes sites are just slow. They may be having server issues, high traffic, or your ISP may be having issues.

The best thing to do is find a site that allows you to "speed" check.

Its solved now with netconfig, it was a problem with the hostname.

Could you please elaborate on "it was a problem with the hostname" issue?

It could be of interest to others (me for example :-)) to know what type of hostname could cause network problems.

I would imagine the /etc/resolv.conf was pointing to the wrong or a slow DNS server
