Hello!

I recently configured my wireless connection to connect to my router using WPA2 encryption. It is working (some minor troubles) but it is working. However, when I boot, the initialization script brings up both my wired and wifi NIC's and I would like to only use my wired NIC. What I am doing right now is that after I logged into KDE, I go in the console and I run /etc/rc.d/rc.inet1 wlan0_stop to stop the wifi connection. Is there a better way to bring up the wifi ONLY on demand? Lets say I boot up and I use the wired (eth0) connection, and after some time I decide to unplug the laptop and use the wifi connection because I move away from my wired plug... Is there a way to prevent wlan0 from being pushed up at boot time? I do not want to comment/uncomment the parameters in the rc.inet1.conf file... To me that would be a band-aid solution...

Second question, Now that I have a wired (eth0) and a wifi (wlan0) connections (the wifi being specific to my access point with WPA2 security), is there a way to have a second (?) wifi connection for generic access points such as hotels, airports, coffee shops, etc without having to comment all the parameters in wpa_supplicant.conf and rc.inet1.conf files every time I want to use the wifi NIC outside my home??

What I am trying to do is to have some flexibility for connection management like in Windows....

Please advise if possible, I would GREATLY appreciate it!
