netconfig not setting eth0 settings on boot

I set my eth0 ip settings through netconfig, and it doesn't seem to do anything on boot. After booting my ip is not set, and i have to do it manually. Do I need to edit a file or something instead?

Which option did you choose: Static IP, DHCP, loopback or NetworkManager?

PS. Why open a new thread and not follow this one?
