Need assistance with Slack 13 and cf-29 touch screen

Been using slack since the early 90's, this is the first time I have not been able to find a solution to a problem I have with slack. LQ is a great place for solutions.......

Just recently acquired a Toughbook CF-29, Slack 13 install went well...all works...kinda.. The touchscreen appears to behave like a mouse on speed.... I have tried to tweak and tune using xinput, this works to a degree but there appears to be some sort of interaction with the touchpad. So my question is this - is there any config and or setup routines to get past these issues..... btw according to dmesg it is finding the touchscreen to be a Lifebook style....
