mounting usb a stick


I am trying to mount up my usb thumb drive thats hooked on the secound usb port
Code:
bash-2.05b# mount -t vfat /dev/sda2 /mnt/thumb
mount: /dev/sda2 is not a valid block device
Where am i going wroung

I put the last line in my fstab

/dev/hda2        swap             swap        defaults         0   0
/dev/hda4        /                ext3        defaults         1   1
/dev/cdrom       /mnt/cdrom       iso9660     noauto,owner,ro  0   0
/dev/fd0         /mnt/floppy      auto        noauto,owner     0   0
devpts           /dev/pts         devpts      gid=5,mode=620   0   0
proc             /proc            proc        defaults         0   0
/dev/fd0         /mnt/floppy      auto        noauto,user      0   0
/dev/hdb1        /mnt/200         ext3        ro               0   0
/dev/hda9        /mnt/tunes       ext3        ro               0   0
/dev/sda1       /mnt/flash        vfat        noauto,user,iocharset=koi8-r,umask                         =0   0  0
When i mount it just locks nothing happens. it is the secound usb device hooked to my computer
