messed up my wicd badly

I have the wicd from -current (1.6.2.2). Like a complete knob i did a slackpkg upgrade-all today which i presume went and got 1.6.2.1. When i now try "wicd-client" I get an error message (see attached). I checked the wicd log in /var/wicd, but doesnt have any messages near the time I tried running wicd.
Anyone have any ideas please?

Try stopping wicd (/etc/rc.d/rc.wicd stop) remove everything from /var/lib/wicd then restart it.
