mencoder issue

Hi,

I'm trying to sync the audio and video in an avi file that I joined using avimerge. This is the error I am getting. Does anyone have any idea how to go about it?

Code:
$ mencoder -forceidx -oac copy -ovc copy myavi.avi -o myavi_final.avi

I also get the following error when running ffmpeg:

Compiler did not align stack variables. Libavcodec has been miscompiled
and may be very slow or crash. This is not a bug in libavcodec,
but in the compiler. Do not report crashes to FFmpeg developers.

Fixed it by installing newer version of ffmpeg, but mencoder did not sync the audio.

Just as a side question, how do you find out what package provides a utility you are after? Do you just google it like I do or is there a better way? I was trying to find out what provided avisplit (transcode) and libavcodec (ffmpeg).

You can search by file name on the slackware package browser http://packages.slackware.it/

Of course that's only good for official packages. The next best things are linuxpackages.net and google.
