I build Mate 1.12 using the zip from https://github.com/mateslackbuilds/m...14.1-mate-1.12 on Slack64 Current Multilib with success. One only needs to remove the deps that are in Current already and add a "--no-check-certificate" argument to some wget's.
Clicking Help > Contents in e.g. Caja provokes a popup reading "There was an error displaying help: The specified location is not supported". I can live with this, but I also noted this with the Mate version of AlienBob's Slackware Live Edition 0.4.0. Hence this report.
you should take the zip from master branch instead of from branch that is specifically used for building packages for 14.1
help is disabled since it requires yelp, which requires webkitgtk and webkitgtk takes a long time to build. You can have a look on testing directory where i put yelp SlackBuild if you want to build one assuming you have webkitgtk installed.
AlienBOB's MATE is also built from master branch, so it will have the same issue
Well, slacky.eu has a webkitgtk package. Actually there are two: an old one under "network" and a somewhat newer one under "libraries".
For a quick and dirty test of Midori for Parted Magic I used the "network" one and things worked.
I will do a quick and dirty test for Mate with yelp and the "libraries" webkitgtk.
Stay tuned.
