i created degradated raid1 using only hdc, and copy all system from hda to it.
then i got this error booting from second disk (hdc):
"Kernel panic: No init found. Try passing init= option to kernel"
using grub menu:
# RAID
title Raid
root (hd0,0)
kernel /boot/vmlinuz root=/dev/md1 ro
savedefault
boot
first i got system installed on hda,
then i mounted /dev/hdc1 to /mnt and copyed all directories except /proc and /mnt on it,
then i made empty /proc on /mnt
grub is still instaled on hda, but im booting from hdc wich is md1 for now
thx guys! its working now
it is first time im using grub
but now i have another problem
when i add hda to md1 array using #mdadm /dev/md0 -a /dev/hda1
everything works fine, drives get sync as #cat /proc/mdstat shows
but when i reboot the machine hda1 is missing from the array
the array doesnt get autostart at boot, just hdc1 is in array after reboot
partitions on booth drives have "fd" id
