made the switch to slack, but have a sound prob


ll sound has bad static?? I have tried all kinds of stuff that i know how to do. But nothing seems to clear up the static.

Im using Slack 9.1
Sound card is onboard VT8233 using the snd-via82xx driver.
this static happens from games and xmms etc...

any ideas on what to try??

have you tried to update everything

I had a lot of problems with sound until i used swaret to upgrade everything.

but i have another problem.. after rebooting lastnight and it coming back up.. now none of the sound modules load??

do i need to do something.. alsaconf says no sound cards are available??

loading the modules manually just comes up with device not found.. and kde when start says /dev/dsp could not be found??

any ideas? I need to change some config files?

got it to work... loaded the other via driver... via82cxxx_audio.. works great now!
