LDAP in SLACK

I've just configured a slack linux client to authenticate via LDAP.

I've tried many things, but (it seems) is working now. If somebody needs help with this I could help .

(Right here, right now, I am tired and I dont want to make a well done microHOWTO),

/bump

No kidding I would LOVE to have authentication working with LDAP on my Slackware box .... it would give me so much more ammo to convert some people to Linux where I work.

Please ...please ... please right up a HOWTO.

I'll even bring the virtual beer

We do use PAM, but we do not make use of pam_ldap. We only use PAM for simple authentication features. You can install the pam_ldap module on your own though.

You can probably get away with installing just a few Dropline packages, without the entire GNOME desktop (PAM, Shadow, etc.).

If you need any assistance, please feel free to stop by #dropline on irc.freenode.net and we may be able to help.
