I dunno if this happens to anyone of u guys, so i dunno if anyone knows how to solve this, but here i go: My konsole doesn't work when im a user.... when i tried to run konsole, it says
Unable to open a suitable terminal device.
and it closes, but when im root, i konsole works just fine.. i went to /opt/kde/bin to change the permission of konsole since thats the only place where i can fine konsole @.. but still doesn't work... i reinstall kdebase since it have the stuff for konsole, but still doesn't work.. so can anyone help me? thanks
Well, this totally sucks but just to let you know someone's reading you. Have you tried launching it various ways? Like from a menu and from a different xterm and from a desktop shortcut if you're using KDE in general? Maybe see if it works in one and how the commands under the GUI differ? Repeat the successful strings in the other startup mechanisms, or trace out which files the different activation processes are using? Otherwise, though, I really can't think of what it might be.
weee thanks for the suggestion! i got it working now, before all the xterm is all like that, but after i reinstall the pkg of the command stuff, the all of the stuff in directory /a in slackware cd, it works!!! woohooo, im happy. thank u guys. now need to figure out how to get my ftp server working again...got it working b4, then tried to use another ftp driver and everything went bad.... but thanks!
