Kmail automatically deletes new mail

This is a strange one. Kmail (on kde 4.5.5 /13.37) seems to have spontaneously taken to sending my email (IMAP over tls) straight to trash. I don't have any spam/av stuff running. Has anyone else experienced this? 20 minutes on a search engine hasn't thrown any known bugs up.

I had exactly the same problem with Thunderbird and IMAP. I changed to POP and it's fine now.
