Kino

I'm trying to install Kino using sbopkg. One of the dependencies is libiec61883. Sbopkg cannot find this file. I tried installing manually from slackbuilds.org but the source tarball is not available and the link to the homepage is broken. Where can I download the source for this library file?

Thanks
Dan

P.S. I'm on Skackware 13.1

Misunderstood what was meant by "can't find".

Try installing libiec without sbopkg:
http://slackbuilds.org/result/?search=libiec&sv=13.1

I think, like solarfields hinted, that he means he cannot download the source: it was on kernel.org download repository, but that is offline since some time now.
FYI, the web stuff of kernel.org is mirrored also on osuosl

http://ftp.osuosl.org/pub/linux/libs...3-1.2.0.tar.gz

you can also download that, put it in /var/cache/sbopkg and then sbopkg won't complain anymore

Could be that the link on the slackbuilds website is temporarily broken, because I notice it points that kernel.org which has had a long outage recently and although the main site is back , it looks as if some areas are being slowly restored. The salix link posted in one of the replies seems to point at a source tarball OK.

Ok I installed from the link posted by solarfields and now have that lib installed.

The link to the source tarball on SlackBuilds is still broken, but that is now a non issue for me.

However, continuing with the Kino install, ffmpeg now will not build. error message says man page can't be found.

Make sure to run this script in a real root shell ("su -") and that you
have either tetex or texlive installed.
Did you follow that?

I have had occassional problems trying to build ffmpeg as well and somebody posted advice here to get the Alien Bob Slackbuild for this package (http://connie.slackware.com/~alien/slackbuilds/). Worked for me, although I am not sure if he maintains 13.1, 13.37 etc versions. There are .tgz binary packages there as well as the Slcakbuilds.
