post 29 is from my working hard drive. I have
a stock kernel from slack stable (Slackware 10.0)
on hda,...I have Slack current with kernel 2.6.10
on hdb... I reboot between the two.
no I installed a new copy of rp-pppoe.
I only posted that to show you that even in a
working copy after doing an ifconfig -a
there is not a ip address for eth0.
the problem seems to be pppoe is not working
it does work with original slack current stock kernel (2.4.28) .
So this leads me to believe I missed something when I configured the kernel.
not sure where to look, I keep looking at the config, but it looks good????
I think I have to start over with make mrproper.
I made so many changes I can't boot that kernel
now. Its a good thing some one suggested saving
tha old kernel. I'll try that tonight when I get home.
