kernel compiling problem

When I compile a new kernel, whether I boot from it or not, the font during boot up get's huge.
It's not really a problem, just a nuiscence. Any idea's on what I can do to change this/correct this?

check the "vga=xxx" parameter passed to the kernel in lilo/grub

probably you just need to pass the correct VESA resolution to get suitable fonts

watch out doing it.
You need to add several weird option to your kernel and if you miss something your screen will close (pretty funny if you don't have any alternate kernel).

take a look at "Console Drivers/Frame-buffer support" in the kernel. You may need several try before get it working.
Good luck
