Kernel 2.6.17.13 Audigy sound stuttering

I've been having problems with Slackware 11.0 and the version 2.6.17.13 kernel. My Audigy sound card stutters when playing WAV or MP3 files.

What I found is that I had to do either of the following two things to keep the problem from happening.
  • Select OSS instead of ALSA in KDE
  • Disable Full Duplex operation in KDE

I will post further information if I find a better solution to the problem.

Have you tried looking at the dmesg output just after the sound problems, or checked /var/log/messages or syslog ?
