kernel 2.6.11.10 & CD-ROM Revision 3.20 driver
Dear Minislack Comunity
I am trying to install minislack 1.1 on my laptop (dell Latitude CP 64M-Ram 2G Harddisk).
I get to the point where I have to select the source media. In auto scan the dc-rom would spin for ever and the message "Scanning for an IDE CD/DVD ROM drive containing Minislack" is left on my scrren
hdc: cd-rom CDR_U200, ATAPI CD/DVD-ROM drive
ide1 at 0x170-0x177,0x376 on irq15
hdc: ATApi 16xCD-ROM drive, 128KB cache
Uniform CD-ROM driver, Revision 3.20
Is there a problem of compatibility between this kernel and the CD-ROM driver?
Could you please take it easy with me since this are my first setps in linux and spell out what information do yoy need or what else I can try?
Ubuntu 5.04 install fine but to slow to run on this laptop. I guess minislack is ideal. On the ISO I have there are not the BOOTABLE.TXT or FAQ.txt files that could help. Am I better off trying to install 1.2 since it has the old_cd.i kernel parameter?
Please help I am absolutely stuck
