Kdevelop 3.0 in slackware 9.1?
After a long weekend struggle, I downloaded slackware 9.1, burned the iso's and installed it on my laptop...
Everything seems ok so far. But where are all the 'killer apps??'
I undertood that the latest KDevelop 3.0 came with this slackware distribution - but it's nowhere to be found in the menus. I'm sure I saw it being 'installed' when i did the install. Can anybody tell me where this application is please as i really need to setup & use it urgently.

Hi can someone tell me where this KDevelop package is located on the system?? How do I find out where software is on a slackware system?? Do i have to compile the packages?
KDevelop should've created a menu item in Start Applications -> Development -> KdDevelop 3.0. If not, create a file called 'gideon.desktop' and place it either in the $HOME/.kde/share/applink/Development directory or the /opt/kde/share/applink/Development directory. Here's the contens of 'gideon.desktop':
Code:
[KDE Desktop Entry]
Encoding=UTF-8
BinaryPattern=kdevelop;
Type=Application
Exec=gideon %u
MimeType=application/x-kdevelop;
Icon=gideon
DocPath=kdevelop/index.html
Terminal=0
Name=KDevelop 3.0
Name[xx]=xxKDevelop 3.0xx

as i stated before actual executable for kdevelop is called gideon now and on my box (with full slack install) command "which gideion" yields path: /opt/kde/bin/gideon
Originally posted by neilcpp ...I was wondering is there not an easier way to do it than the way geekster described. Just a simple entry on the menu??
Right-click on the big "K" at the lower left, in the task bar. Choose Menu Editor and then highlight Development and click on New Item in the toolbar. This will create a new item in the menu (which will also create the *.desktop file I showed you). Now enter the appropriate info and your done.
