KDE and KDisplay

Hello. I am looking for the X Window config file that sets up screen resolution, Video card, and Monitor type. Last night I was messing around and chose the wrong monitor type and video card type--using KDisplay--and was not able to get my screen resolution back to what it was before.
Basically, I was left with a piece of the screen and had to move my mouse to the edges of the screen to see more of it.
I am going to reinstall Slackware 9.1--unless there is a better solution--and was wondering which file I need to backup in order to get the default settings in case all this happens again.
Thanks
Jeempc

normally, the file is under...
/etc/X11/XF86Config...
If you made the changes under KDE there will a backup of your old file there...

Thanks. I have another slack machine and was able to use the backup file from that one. If you change the configuration more than once you will lose the original backup.
