Just a few problems

I install slackware sucessfully and run the xwindow
Slackware has a very handsome interface.

just two things:

1. speaker don't speak
2. have no idea how to connect my computer to the network and the internet(share from another computer).
3.can I share files with another computer which is installed windowsXP?

Thank you too much.

well, hmmmmmm.......

Ok, here goes...I have had sound issues before. What did was remove all the alsa packages, then reinstall them. then run alsaconf as root. This will go through the process of finding your sound card. Now run alsamixer as a normal user, adjust sound. then run alsactl store as root. That should do it for sound.

For your network connection, that is a bit tricky. How did you set it up at installation time? Also, lots of ISPs in the US only allow one ip address per MAC address. So if you are sharing a connect you need a router. run as root ifconfig eth0 and see what it says. Post it here.
