installing and upgrading Slackware via internet ?

here a perhaps naïve question : how do i install slackware and subsequently upgrade to current on a VPS, say with Linode, all via the internet ?

in other words, i want to use a minimum boot media on a VPS, preferably a mini ISO, install a minimum Slackware, then after reboot make use of those various slack package tools to finish installation to a full 14.2 distro, and then continue upgrading to current, as said, all via the internet.

how to proceed ? i have installed Slackware numerous times on numerous pieces of hardware, usually via a full ISO, but also on various VPS - though that latter scenario is never really smooth for various reasons. i just want a simple solution with a mini installer, and then use internet-based slack-tools to complete installation & upgrade to current. i am eager to hear your suggestions...!

Minimal Disk Installation:

http://bear.alienbase.nl/mirrors/sla...ni-install.iso

Normal procedure, choose: KEYMAP, ADDSWAP, TARGET.

In SOURCE choose INSTALL FROM FTP/HTTP SERVER

Enter the url, for instance http://slackware.uk/slackware/slackware64-current/

Then the parent folder of sources, in this case slackware64.

And that's it, easy-peasy.

wow, dsanmartins, that truly 'great' ! it worked, my new Linode VPS is running 4.19.34 ! i use slackware for >25y but never installed it this http-based way which is actually very convenient. i guess it was naïvity from my part, but it's never to late to learn something new...

i went this way :

Code:
wget http://bear.alienbase.nl/mirrors/slackware/slackware64-current-iso/slackware64-current-mini-install.iso
i am going to close this thread.
