How should I go about installing a command figlet on my machine?

The thing is, some type of figlet file does exist in there. I slocate-d it in the directory

/usr/share/zsh/4.2.0/functions/_figlet

If this is the figlet you're talking about, there's one at linuxpackages:
http://www.linuxpackages.net/pkg_details.php?id=4088
Just d/l and use installpkg to install it.

This is just a function for zsh, not a command - won't do you a bit of good.
