Install with PDC20276 (MB Fasttrack 133)

The drive I need to install to is connected to an onboard raid controller. When I boot for install (usung ataraid.i) it detects the controller but prints a message saying "NEITHER IDE PORT ENABLED." I've been searching around and found that this problem can be resolved by compiling the kernel with "CONFIG_PDC202XX_FORCE=y" but I can't compile a new kernel because I can't even get the system installed.

Are there any other ways to get my drives to work?

Thanks!

Jeremy

Go to http://www.promise.com/support/downl...wnload_eng.asp set the product to Fasttrak TX2000 (which also uses the PDC20276 chipset), the category to driver and the OS to other then click Go. Download the driver source file. Connect one of your hard drives to a standard IDE port and install Linux. Use the driver source to build a kernel that supports the PDC20276. Boot with that kernel and it will see your other hard drive that's connected to the PDC20276 port. Change hda to sda in /etc/fstab and /boot/grub/grub.conf then move the cable for the first drive from the IDE port back to the PDC20276.
