i3 - terminal prompt line endless - unwanted 'feature'

The terminal prompt line in i3 goes straight forever, and it never moves down to the next if it gets to large.
I am assuming that this is a feature. is there some way to possibly disable it?

The terminal i use makes no difference. urxvt, rxvt, xterm, konsole, terminal (xfce). they all do it, but when i use fluxbox, everything becomes normal.

Do you mean the line doesn't wrap?

Dunno, I use i3 and I hadn't noticed. Try the i3 IRC channel since the developer(s) hang out there. I doubt it is a Slackware issue.

Does this problem exist in other environments (e.g. xfce, fluxbox, etcetera)?
What is the TERM setting?

EDIT: crap, I just re-read the original question.
Okay, so everything is fine in fluxbox. Good. :-)
