How to use upgradepkg command ?

I want to upgrade some softwares, but want to use this command, instead of remove old version software and install with new version.

I have read man page, but not details. Can you show me some examples ?

i.e: upgrade from Gimp 2.2 to 2.4

upgradepkg /var/log/packages/gimp-2.2.13-i486-1%<path>/gimp-2.4*.tgz

replace <path> with the path to the new package, note if there are differences in the pkg vers and build number you'll need to change the command.

Slackpkg is in extra and is not installed by default. You were asking about upgradepkg and I suggested you to check man upgradepkg.

Code:
upgradepkg [ --dry-run ] [ --install-new ] [ --reinstall ] [ --verbose] newpackagename [newpackagename2]
