How to upgrade the linux kernal in slackware 14.1 x64


Hello guys I am wanting to upgrade my linux kernal and am wanting to know step by step how to go about this seeing as I found several different sites telling me several different ways of doing it I am im relatively new to this kind of thing in slackware and would like to do this the right way without screwing my system up the help will be greatly appreciated Cheers

for what you want to do there's a nice guide written by Alien BOB on his wiki (it applies also to the latest kernels)

Thank you for the quick reply I been a user of linux for a long long time I am now getting right into the techie stuff now I think I found a new home in this forum I will reply and let you know how I went thanks again

Thank you very much I followed the guide and I am currently now using my new Kernel was easy to follow and now I know what to do next time thanks again Cheers The Caveman

Another good source would be: Slackware Doc Project for help when needed.
