How to switch frmo KDE to Gnome?

I am currently using KDE as my environment, and was wondering, how do I switch it over so that it will load Gnome when I startx, rather than KDE?

In a terminal, or at the comand line type "xwmconfig" (without the qoutes) and then choose it from the list presented

Simple!

Finally, someone who offers advice on using the built in Slackware config tools! Thank you! I see so many posts in this forum telling people to edit config files for things there are tools for. Not that I mind editing config files, but the folks at Slackware didn't design these tools for them to sit idle, and sometimes NOOB's get scared off when they are told to edit files. It IS good to learn what these tools do, however, because learning what the man behind the curtain is doing is never bad. This is what makes Slack so beautiful - ease of configuration, even by manual editing. I'll get off my soapbox now...

You might want to make a backup of your .xinitrc file though if you have anything in it that you manually added to it.

For instance, I added an xscreensaver & line to mine, and if I run xwmconfig it overwrites the entire file so I lose that line.

Normally if I need to run that I just cp .xinitrc .xinitrc.save first so I at least still have my old one that I can copy back over if I need to later.
