How to manage order of sound devices in alsa?

Hello,

I have an integrated audio device on my nforce2 motherboard as well as a logitech quickcam. Unfortunately, when the logitech is plugged I am loosing my sound in kde.
After digging a little bit I discovered that Slackware assign the following (cat /proc/asound/cards):
device 0 is the Logitech
device 1 is the nforce2

How can I change the order for these devices, I want the inverse.

Thank you.

You should turn sound-on-board off in your BIOS.
That'll fix it.

Hi, it depends on your version of udev. You need specifically find the names that alsa uses for your cards and set up aliases. Heres my /etc/modprobe.d/sound file. You need just specify which slot to use for which card.

Code:
alias snd-card-0 snd-emu10k1
alias sound-slot-0 snd-emu10k1
alias snd-card-1 snd-ens1371
alias sound-slot-1 snd-ens1371
options snd-emu10k1 index=0
options snd-ens1371 index=1
If you have an older version of udev then these will go in /etc/modules.conf I believe.
