How to downgrade Cups in 13.37

I am having a problem with a printer see http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...script-882143/ and I was thinking that downgrading to Cups 1.3 might help. How might I do that? Can I just remove Cups and replace it with the package from 13.0 or would that break a load of things?

First you should grab the SlackBuild for Slackware 13.0 and recompile to see how it goes.

A problem is that since I am running multilib I would also need the Slackbuild for 13.0 compiled in 13.37 32Bit for conversion to the cups-compat file.
