GTK+ in slackware 12.2

Hi out there...I want to install the GTK+ in my slackware 12.2 machine to start programming with c++ and gui... Is there any SlackBuild (for slackware) somewhere or it needs to install it from source...with ./configure make and make install? I want it cuz when i m gonna install it from sources it gives me this awful error...:

'gtk+2-2.12.12-i486' is already installed ( ? )

Please try 'ls /var/log/packages/ | grep gtk'

.....

Changing it is not recommended.
