Gnome delay on new versions of Slackware

This is a very generic non-problem related question.

I switched to Arch awhile back as I had started using Gnome and liked it very much. At the time I believe I had tried one of the Slackware third party implementations of Gnome (GnomeSlackBuild, I think) and didn't like the results.

Within the past 2 months I had set up Slackware 13.1 in a virtual machine and tried the same Gnome (likely a newer version) and it was working flawlessly. Perhaps they had ironed out the details in the meantime.

What I really want to know is, how long from the actual release of a new version of Slackware is there really a usable Gnome desktop from one of the third parties that has actually been released. I think a few releases ago I was looking into Dropline but it took them months to get a version out for the latest stable release of Slackware. I'm not really interested in building from source unless I can build into a package that can be integrated into Slackware's package manager for easy add/remove.

As the time draws near for Slackware 13.37 I start thinking I would like to switch back or at least dual boot with the intent to switch, but I don't want to do it without Gnome.

I hear you, man. GSB is an excellent version of Gnome for Slackware, I've used it several times. At the moment I am very happy with XFce 4.6.2 on Slackware 13.1 and Slackware 13.37 RC2.
As I understand it the Slackware team has little if anything to do with the development of GSB. Your question may be better answered by the good people at GSB; they'll be able to give you a ball park estimate on the next release of GSB. I see that they have a mailing list and an IRC channel. Maybe another GSB user on LQ can help you.
